The Division Announced for PC

Postby Prey » Tue Aug 20, 2013 10:19 am

The biggest announcement today may well be the revelation that The Division will be coming to the PC in addition to seeing a release on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ubisoft made the announcement today, confirming that the upcoming game, which is set in the Tom Clancy universe will be available on the PC.

I really don't get why so many devs seem to think that the next generation should entail connectivity between numerous devices for a single game. It may seem like a cool idea to have a player on iPhone or iPad who can call in airstrikes or whatever, but in practice I just don't see it being anywhere near as good or even feasible as it's being touted to be.

It's just the latest gimmick to sell to a gullible lot. After all between each generation from now on it will be slight changes between hardware so they need something that seems nerdy/techy for wow factor in there games.

This could be in a different league, a proper premier title.

It's not something I'd buy a tablet for but, seeing as I have one, it'd be something cool for a mate to do when they came round and we were looking at the game. Or even something you could do from work at a lunchtime.

Was perhaps the only game I saw at E3 that I wanted to play in my bones. So pleased it'll be on PC.

This was the biggest game at E3 for me, and it was the only major reason I thought about getting a PS4. Now it's coming to PC I couldn't be happier, saved me 300 odd quid.

From what was shown it looks like a 3rd person MMO shooter. With some sort of clan function, allowing PvE and PvP modes within the same server. It would appear that you have to scrounge and scavenge for items and equipment by raiding different buildings within the city.

That's all I made out really.

Oh! And the next gen ability of closing slightly open car doors when you pass them.

It's a stunning looking world they've built there, I really hope they don't have to cut back on the amount of clutter to make it playable on less-than-top-rate hardware.

Is that how it's going to look on PS4/X1 then? Because we all know how tarted up these tech demos are in comparison to final releases and I really doubt that the new console generation is going to be any different in that regard.

I just don't trust promotional footage at all anymore.

What was the game where they pushed some civilian off a bridge with a bomb strapped to them? That was great... push "well he's fucked, let's have a spot of lunch"
