Looks like I picked up 200 right on time, good design to show all the covers on the back and let you choose.

Wanted: Weapons of Fate [360, PS3] - [4]

Ooh, owch.
Still not deterred from getting the game though. I found the demo to be surprisingly satisfying. :)

FFXIII article is interesting, though i can't help but think Square has lost it. It's no longer about the storyline with the FF games now; it's all about the ridicolously colourful and graphical CG scenes and movie effects. Style over substance, but if they don't watch the western RPG will catch up and swallow them. It's already happening with the likes of Mass Effect being miles ahead in quality RPG gaming than any J-RPG.

Anyway, I remain pessimistic. Not helped either by the knowledge that the Director of FFXIII is none other than the director of FFX-2, a terrible unneccessary sequel to a very successful FF game.

I imagine he's laughing at the suggestion that any FF since 7 has been anything but style over substance. You're about 10 years too late with that "critique"

Or that any FF ever had a good story or writing. FF7 was funnybad.

That's not true! At least up to 10 the games were ok. After that though it's been downhill.

So how come every FF since 10 (maybe even 9, 8 was disliked by a lot of people) has been billed as "FF return to form" or some equivalent?

Cause reviewers are morons >_>

Also i hated 9 personally, though i know alot of people loved it for it's cartooney change of style.

Crowley's and Evol's summations are both accurate.

But but! Crowley is a cynic! And eVoL hates all games people like.

The article on the writer of Planscape: Torment et al is quite interesting, and i'm wondering whether i should try out Planescape. It sounds like an interesting game.
