Erratic level of quality. Lengthy cutscenes that are neither well written or well acted. Hugely unrefined in places and under-exploited tactical squad combat.

Review closing wrote:It's limp attempt at run-and-gun diversions, the failure of it's stolid narrative and the litany of minor flaws don't quite bring down it's central tactical gameplay, but nor is it ambitious enough to truly redeem the whole venture.

Sounds about right to me, the formula has always been generic and boring. The big pies above their head? Is there no better way of having that? It totally ruins the immersion.

It would appear to be Starion. I spent many a hour with it back in the day on the old Amstrad with the green screen no less. Simpler times.

So I'd guess at a making of or a time extend feature for next month.

Mercs 2 beating SWFU has me smiling a great deal. As does Warheads score compared to PCG's 60% review. Snore can do one though.

Bag's right, you can turn them off.

I always like the forumla. The new one only deserves a 6 for tampering with it too much by adding too much silly gore and slow motion to make it look cool. Infact, I hate them for it because they're all hypocritical twats.

'Look at how realistic it is now!'

Gah, gonna have to pick up the Yakuza games now. Edge giving 8/10 for the second one just sealed the purchase.

They are amazing games, though I'd say the second is better than the first.

The original Yakuza has dub, though the likes of Mark Hamill are entertaining, most of the cast are pretty rubbish. The second Yakuza has the original Japanese voice actors (which are excellent) with subtitles.

It's already one of my favourite games of the year, and I've played a lot this year. Anyone with a 60GB PS3 can play it as it's backwards compatible. It's only £15 at Amazon and Play.com, which is an absolute bargain.

Ahem, carry on people...

It was a crossed screwdriver and spanner for what I can only assume is for the new Banjo write up in this months issue.
