Don't know about you guys but I personally loved Prey (and not just because of the name either although you must admit it's a damn cool one!)

The follow-up to Human Head's first person shooter Prey has been officially confirmed to be in development via the website for a new middleman company Radar Group.

While 3D Realms' Scott Miller made mention of a sequel following the original game's release, today marks the first update on the project in nearly two years.

Though few details were revealed, a small piece of concept art (pictured left) was posted, in addition to a short sentence of plot detail.

"This time, abandonded and framed for the disappearance of his family, Tommy escapes an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him," reads the description.

Prey 2 is listed for release on PC and Xbox 360, but no other specifics have been released thus far, including whether Human Head will reprise its role as developer. The studio currently has no known projects.

Yay. The world seemed to shun this game but don't worry Prey, I also liked... Prey...

But yes. I played from start to finish in a weekend and just couldn't put it down. In terms of an actual shooter it wasn't exactly brilliant but the charm of the puzzles and the moderately nice graphics (when you weren't in tiny metallic corridors, take flying around outside of the main station near a tiny meteor that the aliens were mining for example) and the overall presentation with the gravity switching was very captivating. The world on the sphere was very nicely created.

Looking forward to a sequel.

I got halfway through Prey and just stopped. After Portal, Prey just seemed a total waste of technology; it was just Doom 3 without any of the atmosphere.

Prey had a nice intro sequence though. HL-esque.

I fully expect them to steal the portal gun idea for the sequel :P

it was a nice little game though, as Mantis says the alien ships world was nicely fleshed out, and I liked the little touches of bits of earth debris around. And the possessed children *shudder*
IMO :P  :P  :P

It'd have been a great game if not for the really, really lame combat.

The first Prey was quite a bit of fun tbh.

That first part in the run down bar w/ juke box and arcade machines was so nice.

*Don't fear the Reaper plays in background*

oh and strange TV in corner... :?

I look forward to Prey 2.

i liked the first one - it was a bit twee but id play a second outing especially if they gave the story a bit of a boost and dropped the doom3 engine (hate it).

But the Doom III engine was awesome in Prey, so why the beef with it? I actually hope Human Head are developing the sequel, as they were really making strides as a developer when Prey finally got released. Actually hmm, I'm not sure I do as I'd much rather them be working on Rune 2 instead.

Growl.

Bloody hated Prey. First person shooters need decent shooting, dammit.

I thought it was great, the level design was batshit insane at times.

I only got as far as the demo tbh, but the combat really didn't impress me.

As a shooter it seemed to rely more on gimics and graphics then it did solid gunplay and AI.

Still, always room for improvement.
