Big Gabe says no!

Postby Snowy » Thu May 03, 2018 8:14 am

Had a bizarre conversation with Me on Steam today.

I sent him a link to how to improve performance on Battletech that I had seen, and we were chatting about the game. I said I had not bought it but was interested.

The conversation went like this:
Snowy: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/0 ... ore-539023
Snowy: Don't know if you are struggling with the game speed, and if so if you have seen that, but there you go :)
Me: Oooh, good call snowy
Snowy: My pleasure bud
Me: How far you into it?
Snowy: Haha I am not - haven't bought it. I like the Battletech world and enjoyed the early videos but haven't taken the plunge as a lof of the missions sound similar to the time-constrained XCOM missions that put me off those titles
Snowy: Plus the complaints about the glacial animations etc were also offputting
Me: I've only actaully had one time constrained mission so far. Yeah though, the mech don't move to fast, but they dont walk very far either
Me: {LINK REMOVED}
Me: Cheaper there too

He was trying to send me a link to CD Keys via Steam chat, and every time he did what actually came through was {LINK REMOVED}. Steam censoring links it doesn't like now? That's a new one on me!

Huh interesting.

On the animation thing Snowy, I believe there is an option to speed them up that you can turn on.

If you want to see it in action Snowy before deciding to buy it, one of the Youtubers I follow is doing a playthrough currently:

He's a good one. Doesn't have a silly gimmick or anything, just gets on with playing the games and takes time to explain the mechanics etc.

In terms of speed fixes, this might also be relevant:

I think theres a setting somewhere about unverified URLs or something, like the swear filter. Might be wrong but I have a hazy memory of it.

Aye cdkey site links have been tampered with for a long time. Don't think there is a filter for it either.

One of those "You choose to use this platform, you have to follow their rules" situation.
I mean, I wonder why a digital store might obscure links to grey market key selling sites? :-k

It was blocking it even when I typed CDkeys on it's own. Bastards.
