started working on it like january of last year but then moved and packed up my computer, just pulled it back out last week and so finished up making it.

Maybe it's just the unsavoury parts of the internet I frequent, but this was not the 'tribute' video I was expecting.

Indeed. I have never played AC, but I imagine it would give a similar warm and fuzzy vibe to my watching a DAOC run around Midgard, Darkness Falls etc

yeah, this was first online game I ever played, was like 12 when I started, still playing it today on emulated servers.

DAOC was my first MMO, and I was lucky enough to meet a really nice bunch of folks, many of whom I still know.

Many happy memories of power-levelling at the Box, zerging Darkness Falls, and more general memories of wandering around Varulvheim and various other Norse mythology inspired locations.
