I keep getting so close to buying a Switch, even managing to ask for one in Grainger before chickening out at the last second. I've bought so many modern games and just got bored within a day that I can't quite bring myself to dump 300 quid on one.

They're great though, right. I'm missing out, yeah?

It's a great console, but it's not going to be for everyone.

It's certainly the most fun I've had with a console in quite a while.

Well, that's another tick on the ol' Nintendo franchise list.

Probably an enhanced port of the Wii U version, but no confirmation either way. Link has changed from his more traditional appearance to his BotW one so we can probably at least expect some changes to him.

My guess would be that it is their big game for this year so it would be a brand new game, not just a port.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind that it's going to be a port. Albeit a port with some new bits added in ala Mario Kart, but a port none the less.

Can't say any of the announcements filled me with much confidence. I mean, I got some determination from Undertale, but that game runs on a potato computer and I imagine some of it's better tricks are cut out to meet cert, like on the PlayStation. Not exactly rushing to buy it again... unless they do Amiibo for it.

Yeah. I think I'm done with the switch for now. Unless there's a screamer of an announcement around E3 time, It's getting the boot till there are more exclusives I care about.

Sakurai has said he has been working on the game for a while so I don't think it is going to be a port.

A release date for Octopath is the most exciting thing to come out of that.

So, I ended up buying a Switch about a month ago. I bought the trifecta (Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart) to go along with it.

...I'm loving it! Mario Odyssey is my favourite game on it by far. It feels like pure, distilled fun - and there's so much stuff to do even after you finish the story. A lot of it is just collecting more moons that are hidden around, but there are plenty of new little challenge levels too, as well as stuff like races. Mario Kart is great, obviously, but there's not much to say because it's Mario Kart and basically never changes. It's a bit annoying having to switch off the steering assist sometimes when playing with the GF because likes to randomly enable itself. Zelda is good, though it feels quite large and empty. I'm only like 10 hours in though. I find it very relaxing, but I think it is a bit over-hyped. Odyssey is better.

Assist steering is on by default which I don't think is a major issue, but is a bit annoying. For a game that they want everyone to be able to play I think it is better to have it on by default as those who don't want it on will be a bit more savvy and will know how to turn it off.

I picked up Skyrim in the eshop sale, and in handheld mode it's incredibly impressive. In docked mode, though, it's borderline unusable because of the horrific ghosting when you turn. Thankfully I only intend to play it in handheld mode.
