Heard Lorn on the Furi soundtrack but never really explored his material properly. Acid Rain featured on an E3 game trailer and now I've delved in deep. Lay in bed last night for about an hour just listening to two of his albums in the dark. Amazing stuff.
Been listening to Static-X, of all things. Hell of a nostalgia trip!
Also just discovering Wayne Static's solo album that he put out not long before he passed. It sounds like a soundtrack for a Vehicle Combat game from the late 90s. Sounds like a single Fear Factory riff stretched out over 3 minutes with faux Korn-vocals.
It's "bad", but I gotta admit that some stripped down nu-industrial groove is hitting the spot.
My favourite of the year so far - Wormwood - Ghostlands - Wounds From a Bleeding Earth, features everything that I love. Will need to go some not to be my AOTY.

I have had it on a virtually constant loop since I bought it - it just keeps getting better the more I listen. Spectacular album.
I dropped them a note on FB asking if they have any plans to play the UK - sadly not although they would love to do so - I need to see them live, might have to book a flight to Sweden

Picked up Leprosy as well. The album, not the disease.
Hearing a bit of thrash influence. Which is cool, as I can appreciate a wild solo now and then. Still straight up murders a whole lot of modern Death Metal.
Also, some more thoughts on Wormwood. I'm not entirely sure about the dip into folksiness around the middle of the album. Silverdimmans Återsken I can get behind, but the next two tracks almost feel like the wandered over from another album, probably something Finnish. Still damn good, despite not personally feeling the tonal shift and finding the second half in general to be a bit weaker.
Ah, see now I love the shift into folksiness, I think those are some of the strongest elements of the album.
I agree through that the second half is weaker, although repeated listens have made me appreciate it more than I did initially (my first reaction was "Oh where did all the good stuff go?").
Still a belter though, even the weaker stuff still pushes my buttons.
