The odd thing to me is DICE working on two MP games (this & BC's MP) for release fairly close to each other as I understand it. The two engine thing kind of makes sense in a use what you know way.
My main hope for this MoH is Tony Barnes is the lead designer (he designed Desert Strike & Jungle Strike. Then again it's EA and they can always find ways to fuck it up, e.g. Airbourne the game that arrived on shelves was apparently six months work. |

The beta of this can be accessed with a Command and Conquer 4 beta key.

I thought they were playing this up to be an open beta not a closed one.
Now I can't get in to see how bad it is |

I can tell you though.
It's really bad. It's like Call of Duty MW2 but minus the stuff that makes it decent. |

I've seen the video of it at E3 and that was enough to scare me away from it Jim. Taking the piss in copying MW2 and what happened to the destructible buildings in the frostbite engine |

Just got myself a beta key, multiplayer seems very CoD like but with dedicated servers so I'm guessing once this comes out it should see a healthy share of MW2 players come around to it. |

Pre-order the game via the official site and you get an exclusive weapon, the MP7 and access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns from day one, without having to unlock them. |

The limited edition comes with Battlefield 3 beta access apparently...

| Quote: |
Those who own the Limited Edition of MOH will receive an invitation to the Battlefield 3 Beta within 12-months following the release of Medal of Honor.
The Beta offer is contingent on Beta availability, and will be available for a limited time only and the offer expires upon close of Beta events and those participating in it on Xbox Live must be Gold members |
The whole Xbox Live bit is slightly worrying. BF3 is heading for consoles as well then? |

Yeah just read it, looks like your bog standard multi platform release across the 360, PS3 and PC. So I'm not sure what that will mean for the special attention that we all want for PC version.
EDIT: Sauce |

If they are just rolling the game out across every platform its gonna create a pretty big backlash from the hardcore BF2 community. Being available on Xbox and PS3 means the game probably wont be half as good as we had wanted or expected |

think most people are pretty jaded with games like this now. I know i certainly am. Theres just no spark in this type of semi-realistic thing anymore. |

Modern-day shooty shooty has never been my thing. Although BF2 was perceived to be the best MP shooter ever at the time of release, I just could not get excited by it. Since then, there's been a load of modern warfare-ey shooty games that I just couldn't generate any interest in. So BF42 is still the pinnacle for me. BF3 won't come close if it's set in bakkdakkalakkastan in "TODAY" with all the satellites and heatseekers. Give me BF-109's and thompsons.. |
