So theyve chanced stance from triangle to L1. The number of times Ive tried to use my left hand in a fight and ended up switching stance is getting embarrassing. Almost feel like if they were moving anything it should have been dodge that was put on a shoulder button.

By the way, if you want the start of the game to be hard pick the cane. If you want it to be easy pick the axe. If you want it to be moderate pick the oversized razor blade thing :p Two handed mode axe is way op compared to everything else in the early game.

I've only beaten the first cleric beast boss so far. But damn, this game oozes atmosphere. I love it.

Not really had any difficulties yet either. My cleaver is doing a good job of wrecking everything in sight. My only death so far was when I misjudged a big dudes attack pattern and he completely pancaked me.

I ended up at the (I guess) second boss before I found the cleric and he was a biiiiiitch but I suppose I was a fair bit underleveled at the time. First time vs the cleric I had him down to 10% and he glitched me between an unbreakable torch and the wall and I couldnt do shit but die then on top of that my blood stain was nowhere to be found. Slightly irritating. My only real complaint though is that there seems to not really be much in the way of character diversity. Other than weapon selection everyone is kind of going to have the same play style unlike the souls games. Well that and the level design doesnt seem anywhere near as good.

Oh and I prefer the axe just because its secondary just empties rooms of grunts. I wish I liked the cane more because its a cool castlevania weapon, it just does no damage compared to the others. Ive unlocked a few more weapons but temptation to add stats exceeds the temptation to buy a new weapon so far.

Big bosses in the Soul's series always fall short with the same flaw in that you can just stand under their legs and almost all their attacks miss you.

I haven't found enough items to customise my weapon yet but it does seem that there's not going to be anywhere near as much choice in this as in Froms previous games.

Patch 1.02 available now. Fixes Lunarium Key progression bug and removes item dupe glitch.

Loading time fix/improvement still in development

5 bosses in now, not had a great deal of time to play it in the last few days. This morning I mostly just harvested weapon mats while watching a shitty netflix film and now I have a +6 and got a nice bump in levels too from the souls. That escape with all your blood intact, thats a new thing right? Feels.... I dunno.... dirty? Hes also not scared of reusing the same bloody level setups is he? :lol: I laughed at the long thing bridge that meets firey death for all on it bit near the start, but then other stuff later on just takes what was in souls games and pastes them in here..... only not as good.

Really all they need to do is just add travel and leveling up to the lamp posts. Its the going back to hunters dream for no good reason that is the most painful part.

Also, fucking bell wumin'! Jobbies the lot of them!

Started mainly using the tanitarus now, the things clearing 500damage with its L1 modifier and even without that its still out damaging ludwigs. Much shorter range right enough and only 100 durability but Ive never been away from the hunters dream long enough for that to really matter and I always have ludwigs to fall back on so its no issue - also nice since Ludwigs is fire and tanit is leccy). The lack of any equipment weight seems to make things like durability a bit meaningless.

I think str build would be better overall since magic weapons cant use things like firepaper. Then again, we're always doing elemental damage and dont need consumables where a str build is probably higher burst damage with paper applied but maybe lower otherwise? Total guesswork!

Anyway, on to Mensis.....

So they can trot out a fix for the item dupe glitch in double time which a few people use (and lets face it, its up to them if they want to do this with their game) but they cannot fix the loading issues which affect everybody.

Only just doing the cathedral ward as I bought my PS4 for this game and ended up getting distracted by so many other new games. It's still probably the best of the lot so far though.

Main points of UPDATE 1.03
-Reduced loading times (approx. 5-15 seconds; may vary by circumstance)
-Fixed bug that left certain lifts and elevators inoperable
-Fixed bug that resulted in bosses becoming immobilized
-Fixed bug that left players unable to advance NPC events during multi-play
-When the PS4 is put into Rest Mode during online play, the game will now return to the main title screen upon resuming play
This will resolve matchmaking issues related to Suspend/Resume.
-Other various bug fixes
