Death loses all meaning when your Xray attacks are now more deadly than some fatalities! :lol: It was silly in 9, in 10 its ludicrous! :lol:


I just finished it, its much shorter than 9. About 2 and a half hours I think it took me vs about 6(?) hours for 9. Much less epic too but still a fun romp. They did a decent job of keeping continuity too. Fucking arrow guy is even more annoying than Kung Lao! The good guys "oh dont kill the mass murdering psycho" is wearing thin though -_-

Strange theres a few characters in there that arent playable, arent coming in the season pass yet are clearly fully realised fighters that cant need much work to become selectable.

So folk have modded Final Shinook to be playable and.... he has a fatality. Why the bugger would he havea fatality when hes unplayable and never uses it in the campaign?

I've been playing a bit more of 9 recently. Do people still love Sub Zero? For me he is such a rubbish fighter, his parts of the story are far more annoying than anyone else's.

Subs got possibly the second best arc in 9. Maybe not so much the soulnado.... Best arc being Raidens descent.

Its Kung Lao thats a shitty shitestain.

Mortal Kombat X has only been out a few days on PC, but resourceful modders on reddit are already finding ways to add more content to the game. Perhaps most interestingly, one modder has taken a number of NPC characters from the game's code and turned them into playable fighters.

Modder XVermillion uploaded a couple of videos to YouTube in which he shows off Rain, Baraka, and Sindel being used in the game's training mode.

Apparently the method XVermillion used was to take playable character Shinnok and replace the character model and moveset with those of non playable characters that you face in the single player.

There are other files you can change to get stuff like Rain's name under the health Bar but the only files I modded are in the "Assets" folder I believe; there should be 2 associated with Rain (Rain_A.xxx and another one I can't remember but you can just search the folder for Rain).

Anyway, I backed up the files for Shinnok (the character I'm replacing) and renamed Rain's files to match those associated with Shinnok's 1st costume slot (CHAR_Shinnok_A.xxx and one other, the one that matches Rain's other one) and moved 'em to the folder and overwrote Shinnok's old files with the newly renamed Rain files.

What you see is just me playing in training mode with what the game thinks is Shinnok but is using Rain's model and moveset.

Hoping this patch helps with how the game runs on my system. I thought that maybe my machine just wasn't up to the task but it would seem, after some digging around on forums, that quite a number of people are having performance issues even when they more than meet the specs.

I only paid £16, so if it doesn't make it playable it won't be a major loss.

If it helps, you may want to add
-cpucount=2
in the set lauch options in the steam menu when you right click on the game in your library so it will save you having to disable X cores everytime you launch the game.
After adding the launch parameter I would experience less of the CPU fan whirling up when launching, does seem to feel a lot smoother than manually disabling the cores, but I have no data to prove this.
