After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.
If you pre-ordered Mortal Kombat X for PS3 or Xbox 360, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the game and you will receive a full refund.
Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is developing new downloadable content (DLC) for Mortal Kombat X, the best-selling game of 2015 to-date according to US NPD. The new content will include four new playable characters, skins and a new environment, all of which will be available in the first half of 2016.
If you’ve been excited for an Alien vs Predator smackdown on your PC, I’m afraid you’re going to have to stick to the FPS games, because you sure aren’t getting it from Netherrealm Studios. According to a post from community specialist Tyler Lansdown on Testyourmight.com, PC gamers are being left behind with all the work that is being done to update Mortal Kombat X like the upcoming Kombat Pack 2, the beta to improve the netcode of the game, and the upcoming compilation edition Mortal Kombat XL. Mortal Kombat XL is being released March 1 for Xbox One and Playstation 4, and will include both Kombat Packs as well as the base game for $29.99 but as stated will not be arriving on PC.
