Halo: The Master Chef Collection

Postby Prey » Sat May 17, 2014 1:27 pm

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has reportedly been revealed for Xbox One.

According to a report from Engadget, the Master Chief Collection will include remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 and will be out this year.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection may aim to refresh gamers' memories about Master Chief in advance of Halo 5: Guardians, which was announced today. As such, it doesn't look like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach will be included.

Microsoft has not confirmed the project. It's still unknown who's developing, the resolution and frame rate, or if the collection will release on other platforms.

Could this be Microsoft's big push for returning to the PC platform too I wonder?

NeoGAF's Shinobi602 who helped discover Halo 5: Guardians had this to say on his Twitter feed...

It's true :)

edit: Subs already posted about it in the console folder but nobody ventures there. >_>

How the hell could we ever forget about Master Chief? Microsoft ram him down everybody's throats at every opportunity they get.

I like the Halo games. I just don't know why.

Halo 4 was pretty awesome graphically, and the gameplay is still very fun. I think a GoW/Halo bundle would be a purchase for me :P
IMO :P  :P  :P

Blimey, that's a bit of a step up from Halo:CE Anniversary. It certainly *looks* like CGI, but honestly I'm not sure; Halo has always had in-engine cutscenes afterall, and there are other next-gen titles that look almost as good.

Played some of the first game when it came out on PC, but it was a bit meh. Have ignored the series ever since.

It's not in game.
Original Halo 2 uses the in engine stuff while the anniversary setting has the whiz-bang big budget CG video.

Pure speculation on my part, but I imagine it'd be hard to go full wild with the graphics when they're working with two console generations of engine. Halo 5 and it's sequels, now they'll probably look damn good.

And for some reason, I'm unreasonably excited for high-res, 60fps Halo 3.

Also, like with Destiny, why is this not in the Console section?

20GB day one patch...

https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/comm ... are-golden

From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection. The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB. You’ll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update. Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space.

They probably can't because the custom cases for Xbox Games don't allow to two disks.

Release has been moved up a few days to the 11th instead of the 14th previous stated for the UK.

Probably to give you some extra time to pre-load that 'patch' :D
