Current Vita fw can be hacked by going to a website. Tempted even more to pick up a second one.

edit:
Only a few days old and the major emulators are flooding in!

Its a start, but I think you have to install it each time you power on?

Aye but its as easy as visiting a bookmark in the browser.

PS4 firmware 4.0 adds folders. Fucking finally! I can miss XMB a little less. The messyass OS can get a little less cluttered.

Sony announced the price and date for the PS4 Neo.

Most the stuff they showed in 4K looked pretty cool, but the gameplay demos of Horizons and Mass Effect looked like they had a few framerate issues. Also the Mass Effect demo was very underwhelming.

Doesn't play 4K blurays and is ugly as shit. Oh Sony! I can't believe their retiring the lovely PS4 styling and leaving these two hideous lumps on the market. I thought the X1s looked real cheap and nasty but it's better looking than both of those!

Yeah the lack of applause when they revealed the console was telling, also House looked like he was having trouble lifting it.

Great article from Digital Foundry breaking down the PS4 Pro. It seems like you are going to need a pricey 4K TV to get the best out of the system and it might be a bit of a headache for developers. Seems so strange to have three different graphical settings for a game which Rise of the Tomb Raider has.

I like the look of the X1s and I also liked the slightly totalitarian stylings of the original Xbox One, reminded me of the original Xbox.

How long till we find out theyre actually running 2k upscaled? No chance in hell its running 4k native. I even question that scorpio will be able to push 4k with most games.

I like they removed the light bar from the slim but to put it on the front of the neo! Its impossible to cover that daft shite, at least on PS4 I could tuck it under something. Id have been tempted by it if it were nice looking but I think the NX is more of a tempting item in terms of upcoming hardware.

The Pro is not able to do 4K natively as it is based on the Polaris architecture of the 480X which can't do native 4K gaming, it's all upscaled. Guerilla though reckon they have made Horizons look good enough via upscalling that you wouldn't be able to really tell the difference between it and native 4K.

Microsoft have come out banging the drum about how they can do true 4K gaming on the Scorpio so I guess it should be able to do so.

The light bar is still there eVol, it is just letting some of the light seep through to the front so you can see when it changes colour. It is also going to cost £54 which is a joke.

I'd much rather they just went all out for increased graphical fidelity whilst locking in 60fps at 1080p. Some extra grunt on the HD and RAM to improve load times would be nice too. The one thing that always puts me off turning my console on is that all the first party exclusives run like ass and take ages to load between levels.

I guess they want to get in early on 4K to try and drive their television sales. It's a mistake though I think. Better to bring out a 1080p monster upgrade mid-gen now and then wait another couple of years before going all in on 4K with the next generation machine that can manage it far more convincingly.

The consoles, not the pad.

Very good month. And only continues to reinforce my view that I simply never need to buy PS4 games because they all eventually end up on PS+ anyway.
