I mean, it 's just Kiefer. Do the fucking "Snake" voice at least! The bullshit answer Kojima provide in that it's an older Snake or whatever is stupid.

Having seen most of the game played from start to finish (which took about ten minutes -_-) I pretty much agree. It just isn't clicking with me at all, Kiefer sounds like he's just phoning it in and couldn't give two shits about the character that he's inherited.

I'm sort of hoping that GZ is just a test bed to see how people react to Kiefer in the voice and that if he doesn't go down too well then they'll promptly ditch him for Phantom Pain. Bit of a pipe dream I know, but I just don't think I could enjoy a full length Metal Gear with Kiefer. I really wish they'd brought Richard Doyle in for it, he sounded perfect in MGS4.

The full E3 gameplay shown to press was shown on a Konami live stream today:

Starts about 50 minutes in, is about 30 minutes long.

Amazing! :o

Hmm.
So, do I get the PC version, despite my system not being exactly top of the line?
The game leans heavily on solid 60fps and I wonder if my system could keep up while all the bells and whistles are turned on. Metal Gear has always been aa hardware taxing series, though that could just be the awkward engines they've used in the past. Still, you can call me a horrible person for making this assumption, Japanese games are always a little off on PC. Example: Dark Souls.

Should I wait and get it with the PS4? Sure, it's the primo console version of the game, but I've already had Ground Zero's weirdness and twists spoiled for me, so who knows what the internet will look like post Phantom Pain. Not sure I can risk holding out that long.

Sheesh. Well, I guess I'm leaning towards XBO then, as compromised as it is.
That said, I was just playing Ground Zeroes and, honestly, I didn't notice any problem with the resolution. If I was running side by side comparisons, sure, but on my reasonably sized monitor, it didn't look like the "Vaseline smeared" low rez nightmare the console warriors had claimed it to be.

Fun news: Got a copy of MGS and MGS: Special Missions in the post today. Figured, at some point down the line, I'd try and re-tackle the whole main line series.

Counter point Dark Souls 2. Not all Japanese PC games are bad ports.

I also heard Revengeance was a good/solid port.

Wolfy wrote:So I got it because I'm weak ... it feels a small justification for these here new consoles. A little. Maybe.

Well you got a few months out of that feeling
Haven't got GZ coz £20 is too much for a demo that's already been spoiled. Was considering picking it up the same as TPP for PS3... or bump up to a PS4 by then. I'm really glad that PS4 money can go into other things for a while longer.

My very same plan. Trouble is when I was unemployed I was too busy looking for work, and now employed again, well... also, Reddit, TV and boozy weekends.

Having never played any of the MGS games I was considering picking up the HD collection off the PSN store.

Ten minutes my crack! I picked this up on Sunday and expected to breeze through it... it took 5 or 6 god damn hours.
My shitty but successful run was 200 minutes with ~30 soldiers killed. I don't know how you guys do it; on Normal I found that one level tough as balls. And I completed MGS2 on Extreme (thank you Stealth Suit).
It sounds like they loudly drop their tape recorder on to the floor at the end of every recording.
If all of The Phantom Pain levels are like this, it'll last forever.

Done a few different runs of the main mission and yet to touch the side stuff, so I'm getting my value out of Ground Zeroes. Admittedly, I had waited until it was on and Xbox Live sale for 11 quid. Not sure I'd be as enthusiastic paying the original price.

Still, it's whetted my appetite something fierce for the MGS5. :)
