Hmm... Australia gets New3DS on November 21st. That being an EU model means you can import it should you so desire yet still 2015 for UK. Weird.

You know what Nintendo is like. They just can't be gassed to translate everything for all those European languages.

Ok, on the topic of of Nintendo handhelds, I need some help.

Someone, please, talk me down from buying a Gameboy Advance Micro. :(
I'm so tempted to get one of the damn things out of frustration that I can't find a backlit GBA SP or modified GBA.

The stupid thing is that I have two front lit GBA SP, but I've lost the chargers for them. Of course, instead of buying a cheap charger, I'd rather buy an expensive old handheld. :P

Micros don't play original Game Boy games. The front cover replacements are expensive.
If that won't deter you then yes buy one. They are cool.

That'd be the right thing to do. Sadly, I'm not that sensible.

Does it sound like I'm deterred by paying extra? :P

Well, when you put it that way. *bought*

I probably wouldn't have gotten the system just on it's own, but the one this guy was selling had boxed copies of the two Mario Advanced games that I don't have. So... that's how I'm justifying it to myself at the moment.

Are they actually expensive? Weren't they going for around the £30 mark by the end?

Yeah, in stores. Now that you can't buy them any more, along with the collectable nature of Nintendo products, the prices are up. Of course I should have gotten a brand new one for next to nothing back in 2008 when they were coming out of production, but hindsight is hindsight is 20/20.
Same goes for things like the backlit GBA SP or even just buying custom backlit screens for any Gameboy.

I'm sure I could have gotten a better deal if I had gone to a "collectors forum", which are these mythical things that I hear people talking about when complaining about eBay prices. I'll be damned if anyone ever mentions how to find them, though. It's like a secret club of people who sell rare stuff to each other for super cheap. :P

Still have my afterburner GBA.... so much dust under the screen now though :(

My micro lay at my parents house for a good 5 years and when I turned it on the thing still had a decent charge :D

Similar thing happened with my DS; clearly Nintendo's handhelds are genuinely off when you hit that power switch.

Becuase I've a chronic list addiction, here's my GBA libary. Man, I remember buying these games at the time. Takes me back to fond memories of the early 00s... and having one of those wonky light add-ons for the original GBA so I could try and play at night. Good times.
Spoiler: show
Advance Wars 2
Dr. Mario
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Fire Pro Wrestling 2
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Valley
It's Mr Pants
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Medal of Honour: Infiltrator
Pokemon Ruby
Rhythm Tengoku
Sonic Advance 2
Sonic Battle
Super Mario Advance 2
Super Mario Advance 4
Tales of Phantasia
Warioware, Inc.

And the games I've picked up in the last couple of days
Spoiler: show
Gunstar Super Heroes
Rebelstar: Tactical Command
Super Mario Advance
Super Mario Advance 3

So, what would you guys say I'm missing? I've got plenty to be getting on with, but you can never have too much of a collection/backlog.

Also, I'm not being too much of a dick for derailing this thread, am I? I just didn't think it was worth a new thread. :?

Ninjacop (ninja 5-0 in America) is such an overlooked gem.
Rainbow 6 is phenomenal for a 4 button control method, Sum of All fears was less good because they made it too easy.
Circle of the moon is still my fav castlevania
The metroids are decent.
Golden Sun 1/2?
Doom is a cracking port for what it is.

GBA us a cracker of a console, that plays GameCube is pure agame Nintendo.
