You could probably still get a good deal for a 2ds somewhere, I'm not sure about deals for the 3ds, they may still be a bit on the expensive side.

I cant really remember the story of Ruby and Sapphire that well. So this is a definite buy for me, will be nice to frolic around Hoenn in 3 dimensions.

New 3DS game called STEAM.

The game is a turn-based strategy game being developed by Intelligent Systems. It takes place in London and has a steampunk style mixed with elements of Amercian comic books. The Steam in the title refers to a group set up by Abraham Lincoln. It has more of an action focus than something like Advance Wars playing like a cross between XCOM and Valkyria Chronicles.

It's due out some time in 2015.

So I bought Bravely Default.

Quite enjoying it. The battle system, graphics and music are the best bits so far. Story isn't anything amazing right now, but we'll see how it goes. All in all, not bad for 21.99. Heard it goes to shit later on and you basically play the game from the start again but I needed an rpg I can just lay in bed with for an hour or two whilst I can't sleep.

Well, there's my reason to jump back into the Nintendo camp.
I've been meaning to catch up on the 3DS now that the Vita has died a death.

Not playing on my mobile foe some reason. Have they finally out a better battery in the normal size one? XL is such a horrid machine.

That's what i'd like to know - I was thinking of picking up a 3DS XL second-hand, as I heard it's comfier with a better battery life than the regular size.

THIS THING:
* C-Stick analog nub above the face buttons (hopefully works with Circle Pad Pro games)
* ZL and ZR buttons
* SNES-coloured face buttons
* Changable face plates (both on 3DS, back only on XL?)
* MicroSD instead of SD
* NFC built-in (plonk your Amiibo/Skylanders figures on the bottom screen)
* Wider viewing angle for 3D screen (achieved by face-tracking?)
* Better CPU & GPU to improve menu/shop speed

Mildly concerning is that they've announced Xenoblade Chronicles... which only runs on New 3DS, due to using that CPU boost.
Not concerning if you remember the DSi, which only got about 5 such games ever.

Have they sorted out this Nintendo account crap yet?

Extra shoulder buttons to me indicate incoming GameCube ports. That would get me on. The battery is a little better on the small model so I'm slightly interested. There's still so few good games on the thing. I also don't get why everyone loves the XL when it's almost identical to the old phat DS everyone hated and said was ugly.
