Apologies if there is already a thread covering this; couldn't find it!

Just wondered if anybody still owns one, and if so, do you still play on it?

Also need some recommendations for new games for my own!

Cheers guys

I've still got one, loads of games too. I'll post up a list if you're interested in buying any.

As for recommendations, my #1 choice would be Flashback. I'm not too keen on the Sonic games, but Earthworm Jim was pretty good. I used to love Mega Bomberman and Cannon Fodder, too, and Psycho Pinball was pretty awesome. The Streets Of Rage games were good scrolling fighters, too.

Why do you ask? You just bought one or something?

After having my wallet teased by eVoL's auction, I'm totally in the market for a Mega Drive. Hmm! Do I track down a proper unit or just get one of those little plug and play systems that are floating about?

Either way, To Ebay! I have childhood games to re-buy!

A couple of games you couldn't get on the SNES that I always enjoyed when playing on my mate's MD:

Turrican and Thunder Force IV

Mercs was good, the Strike series (Desert, Jungle, Urban ...), Alex Kidd, Cool Spot was fun at the time but I'm not sure how badly that might've aged, Streets of Rage, Cannon Fodder, Road Rash and Mickey & Donald World of Illusion (for some fantastic co-op gaming).

Castle of lllusions, Sensible Soccer, Earthworm Jim, Chaos Engine and Dynamite Heady are all worth tracking down.

I'd love to dig my Mega Drive out, but it would look awful on my HDTV.

Yeah I've got the classics (eg, Sonic, Golden Axe) and Streets of Rage. Wouldn't mind the World of Illusion game though!

Cheers for the heads up guys

I always had a soft spot for Kid Chameleon, although I can't remember now if it was any good or not.

I bought a MDII and a (faulty) MCII with Sonic CD recently.

I just had the urge to replay Sonic CD, but first repairs!
