RIP Stephen Hawking

Postby Rossell » Wed Mar 14, 2018 4:10 am

Thanks to insomnia, was checking the news this morning and this happened, age 76. For what he suffered with, that's incredible. I felt he deserved his own thread as opposed to the celeb cull thread considering his contributions. RIP.

One of those people you assume will just always be there. What an amazing guy and really quite funny too.

Oh man, that's really upsetting :(

Like you say, good innings considering his illness. Wasn't he given months to live when still in his 20s or 30s?

Edit, looked it up, was given two years to live when first diagnosed in 1963... he was 21. Incredible.

My face is tired.

Quite right to give this it's own thread. He was one of mankind's sentinels both in thinking and as a keystone as to where to go next. What an inspiration he has been, and will continue to be. We keep the mind of trump but lose this great thinker...sad day indeed...

Agree with all of the above, a huge loss for us as a species, let alone a nation.

An absolutely outstanding human being.

To say he will be sorely missed is about as gross an understatement as I'm ever likely to make.

A genuine loss to us all.

So true mate.

I have to admit I didn't much care for the bloke. Reasons aren't important really. Think he was influential in his own way.

Sad that he's died though i felt he was more of a great champion for disabled empowerment than anything else I guess.

It's a great loss but he's helped fuel the imaginations of a lot of people and will always be remembered. RIP.
