Low season during the usual December-January winter period you mean? Cheers dude, I'll look into that for a possible trip with the lady friend next year. We always like to do everything as independently as possible so we have to do all the research and have complete control over our holiday, but I'm not averse to doing some packaged stuff if it's good quality.
Yes absolutely. From about November through February in Canadian Rockies. Myself and wife went to a different area every year for 5 years before the little one came along. We like snowboarding and anything to do with snow. Having spent a few holidays boarding in Europe where every where is jammed pack and expensive we decid3d to try Canada.
Never
Looked
Back.
Long flight yes. But amazing place beautiful in a way that Europe isn't. Food and low end accom is cheaper than Europe by far and far nicer. The steak houses in particular are worth looking at.
We all ended up giving eachother money this year mostly. Which gets a bit silly, you're just swapping notes. Might as well not bother.
But I got some proper toys for my niece and nephew, saw them on Christmas day which was great. Xmas doesn't mean a great deal to me tbh, but it's nice seeing them enjoy it.
I actually only ended up getting a pair of thick thermal socks and a new mug, that was it primarily because our fucking fridge freezer decided to pack in just two days earlier and we were forced to spend around £400 on getting that replaced to save the food we'd bought for Christmas without warning. I didn't mind so much as the kids all got what they had hoped for and it is always more about them than it ever could be about my selfish wants. Hope you guys fared better than I!

Got a temperature controller for my smoker, which I tested out by doing a brisket and pork shoulder on boxing day. Worked absolutely brilliantly, maintained a temperature of 250F throughout the cook, and the meats came out absolutely amazing. Happy Snowy

Great to hear that everything's been replaced in the end Raid and pretty fast as well
My sisters kids were over the moon with their gifts from me so I am pleased about that. Fairly low key affair as always here, just what you need really
All about the film catchups, got Rogue One on DVD and Heat on Blu Ray which was a nice surprise, picked up SW Force Awakens DVD for the rellies that hadn't seen it but did go to TLJ so they'll be able to catch up completely with Star Wars.
For myself, just a Netflix gift card giving more time to stream stuff, good to be able to login and have time and not have to binge.
