Had a couple of inches overnight, but it's still coming down pretty heavily. The school has texted to say it's an official snow day (tbh we weren't going to send them in even if not) and the wife is going to work from home today.
My face is tired.

Not a huge amount of snow in Lancaster, but good lord it's cold. I've been in the office (reasonably warm) for 25 minutes and I still can't feel my toes.

I'd guess the snow drifts in my garden are close to, if not higher than a foot. Car is damn near buried. No idea how long it'll be before I can even get out of the driveway.
Had to go out this morning to check on the heating system for a neighbor and just walking down the road, it was up to my knees.

While it's more or less stopped fallinging, it's is getting blown about violently and really piling up. And if the temperature doesn't rise any time soon, I don't see it going anywhere.

Hah! Didn't expect to get snowed in, but there you go.

29cm here away from the drifts. It's been great fun!

Off out to source some milk and no doubt hilarity as the local knuckle draggers indiscriminately clear the shelves of anything even remotely resembling food.

The plus side being that the paths will be nice and clear thanks to the aforementioned knuckles. :D

Got stuck on the M1 in three separate traffic incidents yesterday. My 2 hour drive ended up taking 7 and a bit hours, pure chaos. Ended up staying the night rather than risking driving back up. Nobody has risked the roads today though so the motorway was clear for the whole drive back. Got back to the office to find it was basically snowed under and that most of my floor hadn't bothered to come in.

The snows been pretty bizarre here so far the downfall hasn't been a complete blizzard but it's still been enough to screw up travel and the wind is the big thing.

Weird snow an all. It's almost like polystyrene beads blowing around.

Officially snowed in.
It's up to above my ankle outside the front and back doors.
It's hip height opposite my house.
This is officially hilarious :)

Yeah we're now officially snowed in too. It's been constant for 12 hours and isn't slowing down, even now. Can't work out where the pavement begins etc. Bizarrely because of the wind I can still see my patio but have weird snow drifts in the rest of the garden.

And that brings me to what Jez said, the wind is so blowy and the snow is so fine that its getting into places that your average snow isn't. I hate to think what my attic looks like.
