Thank you lads. Today has been mostly chilled out because it's my first birthday spent on another continent (currently in rochester in new york state celebrating my friends wedding yesterday) and resting from a serious drunken night. Will be driving down to new york itself in a few days to do the tourist bits.

Edit : and as I've been busy missed out on other peoples birthdays so belated wishes to them also.

I'll be fair Jez I couldn't be the best judge as it was a free bar that night and we didn't drink much after that.

I did pay for some cider over there (a rarity in the US) and it came out as $5.50 which is £3.74 a go so maybe roughly comparable. However got told it was a custom to give a dollar tip to the bar staff so that drives it up.

Also even after explaining to the bar staff we weren't from London, one of them kept shouting "Staines Massive!" every time he saw us.
