Carrie Fisher's mum, actress Debbie Reynolds, has just been rushed to hospital, with a suspected stroke. 2016 may not be done just yet.

Yeah, the guy that wore the suit rather than the puppeteer or voice actor:

I don't watch a lot of MMA, but it was amazing how she managed to learn nothing from her last defeat.

Disney are set to pocket $41 Million due to the late Carrie obviously now no longer to complete her contracted filming for Star Wars XI...

Disney is set to receive £41million over Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher’s untimely death after taking out insurance to cover her failing to fulfil a three-film contract, it was claimed last night.

Fisher was also due to have a starring part in Star Wars Episode XI – scheduled for release in 2019 – which is now expected to be substantially re-written in the wake of the actress’ death.

When all is said and done everything always comes down to money.

Incidentally I just finished watching George Micheal live in Paris in 2012. Fuck me he could sing.

You make it sound so seedy. I'm sure it's a standard procedure, and the insurance will presumably pay for what is surely going to be a very difficult plan going forward.

I have to admit that more than a few of my thoughts surrounding Fisher's death have been regarding just what the hell they do with the future Star Wars films now. She'd finished filming for episode 8, but apparently it was for a much larger part than she played in 7. I can't imagine them creating a CGI Leia as they did with Tarkin; it'd just be too soon, nor are they likely to re-cast her.

Yeah it's not like they were hoping that she'd die so that they could cash in or anything. Insurance policies are often tasteless, but they exist and provide an element of security to people in both the business and private world. It's not something really worth getting caught up over.

If they'd not already filmed Episode 8 they could have probably rewritten huge chunks of the story to get around her absence for the final movie. But if they're already done and she plays a large part then who knows how they'll get out of that corner they're now backed into. Perhaps they'll scrap huge parts of her scenes in Episode 8 to try and provide some sort of cohesion to her gradually fading out from the franchise. I doubt it though, they probably won't want to waste the money spent filming; so we'll end up with CGI Leia in Ep9.
