Yay, though death's too good for him. Hope he suffered at the end like his poor victims.

..................

I don't even have the fucking words. I feel empty.

I still vividly recall the very first time I actually saw the video for Black Hole Sun, it was being shown at like 2am on MTV and I was drunk and sat in a darkly lit room with friends as the screen started flashing its surreal images. By the end of it I was stood up shouting BLACK HOOOLE SUN! BLACK HOOOLE SUN! Greatest party night of my youth that.

I've still yet to stop crying if I'm honest, Kath is wondering what the hell is wrong with me downstairs. Chris' sound and talent shaped much of my life and I'm thankful I got to see him live twice. The man had a voice that could pull me in a thousand different directions and Down on the Upside was the very first cd album played when we got our first home together on a hi-fi I'd spent a year paying off just for the privilege of hearing his voice in the best way possible. That's what I felt whenever I heard Chris' voice, privileged.

I will meet you on the other side again my friend and we shall adventure in the black hole sun together. Until then.

RIP Chris. The man whose way I always followed. :( :(

That was not the news I was expecting to hear.

Been listening to Soundgarden for about 12 years, started off with Superunknown. His voice is unique and simply unmatched. Nearly got to see him live some years ago until he had to cancel, won't get the chance now which sucks.

RIP.

They played here a few years ago but I couldn't find anyone to go to the gig with me so I didn't bother. I am a fucking idiot... :(

Actually a little story I remembered from a few years ago.

Back when Audioslave were readying Revelations I decided to pre-order it. Didn't really pre-order that much and I hadn't even heard any of Revelations, and it was totally unlike me back then to order an album without listening to it.

Anyway got informed at work that a parcel was awaiting me at home and excitedly got home and unwrapped the parcel (back when Play.com ruled the roost).

I sat there dumbfounded as sat in my hands was Volume 4 (or whatever) of James Bond inspired theme songs. It's that thing where you sat there quite blank and incredilous that what you expected to be, wasn't.

Sent it back in after and got the proper Revelations CD sent through. The irony was he would do the theme to Casino Royale later in the year.

Many years I was on a driving lesson, a chap got indecisive at the zebra crossing and I went straight through. I wasn't looking and my instructor said "didn't expect to see him here" I asked who, it was Roger Moore.

I now refer to that day as the day I nearly ran over James Bond. RIP.
