Sean Hughes. Stand-up comic, though I mainly remember him as a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Only 51. Sounds like he was in quite poor health - liver disease and died of a cardiac arrest.

Wow. He always had a bit of a poor mans Shane McGowan vibe about him to me.

Regardless 51 is far too young to be popping the old clogs.

Really sad to hear that one. A band I have loved for over 30 years, and irrespective of anyone who believed that Angus was the lynchpin of the band, for me the backbone of AC/DC was always Malcolm Young, standing at the back of the stage with Cliff Williams and providing the constant AC/DC sound.

RIP Malcolm Young - Ride on!

Time for Angus to hang up his cap and let us remember a great band as they were.

Damn, I saw them in Donington back in the 80's, genuinely awesome.
Agree with you tbh Snowy, once a band has lost most of it's original members but keeps going it's in danger of becoming the Trigger's broom joke in Only Fools & Horses.Time to bow out on a high.

Sad news as former Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna dies aged just 49 after a battle with cancer:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/42049507

Still remember her reaction after losing a final to Graf, only to go all the way a few years later. Is also the one professional tennis player I've seen 'in the flesh' as it were, ie not on court. On my one visit to Wimbledon in the 90s she walked past me on her way to one of the outside courts.
My face is tired.

The wonderful Keith Chegwin has left us today. Aged just 60.

Apparently he has had a Lung condition for sometimes. Such a ray of sunshine (overpoweringly so on a LOT of occasions) but he seemed like a good bloke, and he always made me chuckle.

His turn in Extras was nothing short of comedy gold.

Also he once gave Katie Hopkins a bollocking too. He really did put it so well... "To promote your...cult...To promote your package...To promote YOU!"

I remember him on the Viz mockumentary years ago saying the comic ruined his life

I just read that he has struggled with the drink for a lot of his life.

Given his output that would make some (tragic) sense.

Many of us grew up watching that show and I always loved his glowing positiveness in whatever he put his hand to. Great guy who tv viewers will miss dearly.

Big shame, part of my childhood gone there. I remember him in freezing car parks on Swap Shop while the bearded scrotum Noel Edmunds sat in the studio, but Cheggers was always cheerful.
