Beards

Postby Stormbringer » Tue May 03, 2016 12:09 pm

I can't help but notice that beards became something of a fashionable thing for men across the whole spectrum of British society during the years I've been away from PWF.

Just wanted to say, I had one before it was cool. ¬_¬

Did anyone get caught up in this fad and grow one (who didn't have one before) in the past eight years? If so, how is it working out for you?

I had a full David Bellamy standard right through sixth-form (1979-80) mainly as the deputy-head constantly nagged me to shave it off. Which I did the day I left school, when I picked up my GCSE certificates off him he genuinely didn't know who I was.
Always had a moustache but I now have a Heisenberg, partly to hide scars on my chin caused by the ventilator during my 2012 incident.

The number of days I've been without a beard since I was 16 can probably be counted on one hand* (I'm 31 now). I briefly tried giving it a particular shape and style a few years ago but that didn't last. I give it a close trim all over once a month and job jobbed - a respectable neckbeard.

I started shaving when I was 11 and at the end of primary school, so by the time I left school I was sick of it. It was always a losing battle and the beard won.

If I shave I get so much razor burn that I look like a teenager and my facial hair matches the exact same patches of black and grey once sported by Osama Bin Laden, so I stick to stubble. It matches my head.

I've had a beard for about 6 years, finally got sick of shaving on a regular basis. I keep it fairly short and sculpt it a bit as I can't be doing with a full face beard. I shaved if off a little while ago just to see what it was like and couldn't get it anywhere near as smooth as it used to be, so I think I'm stuck with one now. :)

I only bother with them if I'm somewhere unpleasant to jews and sandy. Other than that it's clean as a babys arse. When I leave the forces I'll go full Brian blessed though.

Have been clean shaven since I started needing to shave way back when. Stubble makes me look like a vagrant so don't even allow that. Came into this world with a face like a babies arse and by jove I'll leave it with one!!

I also hate shaving so its a bit conflicting really :?

Let it grow till at some point I get the bear trimmer out and 99% of it goes and then repeat. As I am that lazy to shave :P

I'm now 28 and still can't grow a convincing beard. I refuse to have a pube-like teenage wanky beard so continue to shave.

And by that I mean, beards are shit (except on Doug) and for feral people. ¬_____¬

35, also cannot grow a beard.

That being said, I still only shave when I decree I look too scruffy.

Never sported one myself. Am not overly hirsute, probably could do a decent goatee, but never felt the need.

I must confess to an overwhelming sense of wanting to batter the cock whenever I see one of the bearded hipster twats though - you can always tell them as they think waxed and curled taches atop a shovel beard is a look to aspire to. Mama how I loathe them.

Batter the cock? I've not heard that phrase before...

I grew a beard last year... probably the second or third time in the last decade - it's a phase thing - shaving every day can get very boring, and doing that while in zombie wake up mode.... argh. You can get away more days with a beard! :P

That said, I'm no fad follower - I'm just uniquely epic! 8)
