Is it just me or are there hardly any april fools things this year? The only good one I've found is on uplay of all places.

Probably because it's fallen on Easter Sunday this year and there's important chocolate in need of being eaten.

And as is tradition, the worst part of April Fools day is waking up on April the 2nd and reading all of the Americans' attempts at jokes (that no longer work because everyone knows what day it was by this point). Anyone else find AFD jokes feel a bit sad the day after?

Also, as you probably know I'm quite a nervous chap who doesn't do much for himself. Today I just booked a hotel and flight to visit Edinburgh in May. Consider it losing my solo travel virginity. Bricking it but also extremely excited :D

Time for a mini vent about how some people are incapable of following basic instructions. Sent some yesterday which were nothing more than "do step A, then do step B", to which the person immediately said they'd go and do step B. I replied and made it abundantly clear that it had to be step A THEN step B and that the order was important or it could fuck things up for a major customer.

Came in this morning and the customer is having problems. I went and checked what had been done to their database, and lo and behold the tit in question had done step B followed by step A. ](*,)

I mean... this is a level of incompetence I wouldn't expect from a toddler. The fact that people like this survive into adulthood astounds me.

If breathing required the conscious following of a specific set of instructions the world would be better place.

Some sort of simple common sense test should be developed. Something like:

Step A - ignore Step B

Step B - throw self from tall building

That reminds me of a test we were given in primary school. It had a massive list of chores from standing on one leg, count from 10 to zero backwards, etc but the very last item in the list said don't do anything but sit quietly and raise your hand.

The initial instructions said 'read the list carefully'... no one reads instructions...

I wouldn't put too much stock in common sense, after all common sense is what tells us the earth is flat.

You test seems sound to me though.

Yep, one of the best weekends I've ever had, tbh. Cleared A LOT of brambles out of the GF's garden, then chilled with her, child free, all weekend - good dog walking, good food and good telly, and good everything else... Watched all of Happy, which is absolutely fantastic, btw. Need to win the lottery and chill forever....
