Really really boring - life insurance recommendation

Postby Achtung Englander » Wed Apr 29, 2015 7:29 pm

Yep - I need to get some. Now before I begin my search does anyone here recommend a policy. Nationwide want £100 a month and I point blank refused to pay that !

Seems a bit steep. Is that pure life insurance (the type with no return unless you actually die)?
Is it whole of life (you pay until you die) or a set term?

I'm old and diabetic and pay around £30 per month for £105,000 for 23 years odd.

What do you need life insurance for? I need it for my mortgage so I can pass on my house debt free to my son.

So make sure that mortgage is for a house with stairs.

"Those darn kids are always leaving toys at the top of the stairs, oh no achtung! My darling, my life will never be the same again. Woe is me!"

"Hello is that standard life? Yes there's been a terrible accident!"

I've no idea about insurers to use, but if you get your insurance through Compare the Market you should be able to get 2for1 cinema tickets on Tuesday or Wednesday for a year.

Yeah Nationwide reward loyalty in some areas but are totally uncompetitive in others, sadly.

Try Royal London if they've been around a long time, then after that Scottish Widows as long as they've not been taken over by anyone.

May even take you up on that Snowy, life insurance is something we've been meaning to sort for years and not got around to.

Both in my professional capacity but also from a commonsense perspective, it is not something you should go without.

Purely financial unfortunately. It has been weighing increasingly upon my mind, however.

Well the offer is there if you want it - I get nothing from it so don't think it is a sales pitch or the like.
