I haven't listened to any since the week before Christmas. I take it it wasn't great?

They basically lost the podcast and Jeff and Rory sat answering e-mails for a while with general chit chat in between. GOTY podcasts are up now as well.

Oh, I was going to skip that one anyway because they said they may just do an email orientated one in the week of Christmas.

I recommend almost anythung by Scott Johnson:

The Morning Stream
Boop
Filmsack

For films I recommend
/Film
The Guardian film review
Radio 4 Film program
Kermode Uncut is very good - no reviews (which is spoiled by the idiot that is Simon Mayo on their show) but interesting insights into what he thinks

Radio 4 book review program is pretty good if you looking for a book program

Games is a little more tricky as most podcasters come across as fuckwits. I do not mind self opinionated people so long as they have something interesting to say but there is a borderline into twattism that a lot fall into. Currently listening to Rebel FM but might abandon them as they keep on swearing all the time - its jarring. There are some nuggets into insights but dear god are they grandiose. The only one that stayed the length of time is Gamers With Jobs.
Games playing : Doom / Dirt 3 / Wargame: European Escalation / Valiant Hearts (XBO)

The main problem I have with Scott is the fact he cancelled the only show of his I listen to. :(

Listening to GB goty podcasts at work and rather annoyed at how quick they dismissed Divinity as an unexpected surprise because they knew nothing of the series and assumed they were all like that. :( Divinity is one of the surprises of the decade from how shitty that series was previous.

When it comes to anything to do with niche PC stuff there are not enough knowledgeable voices in the room to speak up for it. The console crowd invariably drowns them out, especially as these discussions are nearly always dominated by Jeff. Before GB went a bit rubbish this was my one major issue with the podcast, PC only games nearly always got short shrift.

Fine!

The final day was....
Spoiler: show
damn heartbreaking with the number 10 argument! I thought for a second Divinity was about to get in but stupid stupid Destiny got it! Every time anyone talked up Destiny and CoD I kind of wanted to claw my ears off. Especially when they didnt put Titan Fall anywhere on it yet had CoD so high and TF is so many times a better game than CoD, also the CoD campaign is hot trash. :(

Some good stuff though, I do enjoy these podcast series. I love Dans childlike passion.

Medicine Man wrote:Designer Notes: A new podcast from Civ IV designer Soren Johnson. Sure the audio is a little rough, but he's only just started and the content is great! First guest is ex-Blizzard chap Rob Pardo. Lots of yakking about Stracraft and Warcraft and that.

New episode of this is out. And part 2 of the Pardo interview if you missed it. Check the link above.
