WOW! Blast from the past!

I bought that exact same toy in 1993. It was the only human figure I bought from the Jurassic Park range. I only bought it for the baby Triceratops, because I had the full-sized one with DINO-DAMAGE and wanted her to have a baby.

I named the baby "Little Buddy" (I was quite a sentimental child). It was my favourite toy for years. I lost it once and was heartbroken. Then I bought another. ¬_¬

Then did you sell it, only to rebuy it some time later? ¬_¬

I've been off work for a good few months due to illness, and have ended up going through a lot of Star Trek on Netflix to stop myself from going crazier. I decided I wanted some models of various ships. I considered getting one of the large-scale model kits, but quickly realised that getting one to look screen-accurate was going to be such an insane amount of work that I'd likely never finish it.

So I bought these:

They're from that monthly subscription magazine that launched a few years ago. I was never going to spend £20 a month to receive such beauties as the Malon waste barge or Harry Mudd's tin bath tub, but I discovered they now sell individual issues at their standard price, no subscription required.

They're actually quite nice. When the magazine's advert started showing on TV, I expected them to be little better than the badly-molded Micro Machines I had as a kid, but these have some really nice detailing.

They're not perfect, but at £10 for a mass-produced and hand-detailed model with die-cast bits, you wouldn't expect them to be. They do come with stands, but I'm going to 3d-print myself some brackets to attach to the top of my monitor. I want to get the Enterprise-E, Enterprise NX-01 and the Defiant, but they'll have to wait until next payday.

Car started to make a loud banging noise that just got worse over a couple of days, decided to book it in at a garage to get checked over expecting something expensive had broken then I thought "Are the wheel nuts on tight?" Answer: NOPE. Both rears had a single tightened nut each, the rest were not even finger tight and they were both missing a nut. Fortunately I had a couple of spares, after tightening them all up properly the noises miraculously vanished! Still going to get it checked by a competent mechanic since whoever forgot to tighten the wheel nuts has also replaced the brake pads. Not a great start ¬_¬
