I know nothing about collectible stuff. So just out of curiosity are those Jaws models dead old from the 70s or something or are they much more recent?

They are new out this year. On the whole I am not a big fan of the ReAction figures stuff. The company has managed to get there hands on all kinds of licences (they are a subdivision of Funko so think about this popular bobble-heads doing the rounds at the moment to get a feel for what licences they have access too) and on the whole they have always struck me as a bit "hey look how random and old-school these are! Epic!!".

Then they released these Jaws ones and...well money was spent.

That being said Jaws on its release (and beyond really) actually has had very little memorabilia available beyond the novel and the vinyl of John Williams soundtrack. These feel like making up for lost time, so for once the retro look of them kind of fits nicely.

Also you cant see it but Bruce (the Shark) comes with an oxygen canister too :D

Spoilsport ;-)

Gamingheads Gordon Freeman 1/4 Scale Statue

I don't think it's any big secret that Half Life (and its myriad of expansions and sequel) and my favourite video game/s ever! (or maybe you don't know. Perhaps I am foolish in thinking I am popular enough that people know this about me) so this statue was always going to find its way into my collection sooner or later. Released by Gamingheads in 2011 this wonderful piece has always demanded a 300/400 quid price tag but I managed to snag it for a fraction of that price recently from a very happy and eager to chat man in Germany.

The detail on the piece is stunning. There was an "exclusive" version of the statue that came with an extra hand so Gordon could hold his machine gun instead of the crowbar(I mean fucking really? what kind of penis would buy a Gordon Freeman statue and want him holding anything other than a crowbar?). But yeah, everything from the specs on his face, the crowbar in his hand, the Pheropod in his other hand and the HEV suit itself are so wonderfully detailed and rendered. My only real gripe is the base which seems a bit rushed and had zero thought put into it, but it works...kind of.

I am finding it difficult to imagine a better piece of Half Life memorabilia existing. Could not be happier with this addition to my collection.

Ole Gordon there looks like he's about to talk about a band you've probably never heard of, whilst sipping a Starbucks vegan latte.

Lovely looking statue all the same.

Lovely statue, though facially he does look a bit like Rolf Harris with a better haircut.
