New cheapish graphics card

Postby deetz » Mon Dec 17, 2012 6:35 pm

I'm currently using a Radeon HD 5700. I ran out of money when building a new pc this summer so borrowed a friends old gfx card. I've been playing Planetside 2 recently and I've been getting appalling frame rates in heavily built up areas. Usually between 10/12fps. I believe this to be the main reason behind my poor k:d ratio.

Can anyone recommend a decent card? Budget is up to £150. Failing that can anyone recommend a decent reviews site?

Cheers :)

Bam.

For reviews I tend to check Toms Hardware, Tech Radar and Bit-Tech.

7850 is near enough bang on the spot for budget.
7870 if you can stretch a touch more.

Try and find a 2GB card, it makes enough of a difference.

I bought this for my sisters pc and it runs like a dream... better than my 5870 1GB model *shakes fist*

Shame AMD cards seem to have dropped to 1 DVI connection and mini display ports as I'll have to find compatible adapters that don't cost a bomb to hook up my other 2 screens when I go for an upgrade :(
