Best/Cost effective webcam for video blogging

Postby Tank » Mon Sep 10, 2012 12:29 pm

Simple request really.

I am looking for a half decent webcam I can do video blogging with. I have a budget roughly between 30 and 50 pounds. Ideally I would like HD and good sound (although to be fair I am thinking about getting a separate mic for that part of it).

Can anyone recommend anything?

As posted in your Fridge thread, Logitech are one of the major players in the market and I'd be surprised you had to spend that much, Dabs's old one from three years ago was £20 and so is this one;

It only does 720p though, is that going to be enough for your Youtube stuff? If not search the rest of their range.

If you separate the mic by the way, Argos are still selling the MS Lifechat 3000 which I've had no problems with and on which you'll get a proper guarantee and be able to go back to the store in case you need to return it.

or search cat number 6753650 . An all-in-one might save you cash mind. For an idea of how it sounds check the podcast, as that's what I use.

Yeah. I think If it turns out I need a mic I will just grab a small "clip on the shirt" one and go with that...

If you do then grab one of these as they are pretty decent.
