Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Screen protectors

Postby eVoL » Tue Aug 21, 2012 3:18 pm

These annoy the crap out of me.

Problem - Want to keep piece of tech looking good as long as possible.
Solution - Cover the screen in selotape making it look like shit.

Sure your screen looks great under the plastic, but for the length of time you own it it looks like crap. If you use these, you sadden me :(

I have fitted 2 to my Desire since I've had it, without any problems or bubbles.

My iPhone protector is absolutely fine. With the rubbery case wrapped over the edges of the front you can't even tell that there's a screen protector fitted to it.

My housemate did spend about three hours trying to apply one to his iPad though. And even after that it looked like shit.

You've just got to make sure the screen is totally clean and that there's no dust in the air that'll catch whilst you're applying. If you're gentle enough you wont even need a credit card to flatten out the bubbles.

If it's put on right then you can't really tell there's one on, especially if it's got a case as well. The best thing about them is that they're cheap and they really do protect the screen. If the protector gets all scratched, just whip it off and stick another one on.

As others here, I have never had any issue apply a protector to my screen. Always goes on without bubbles and looks fine.

Pro tip, run a hot shower and sit in the bathroom whilst you do it. The moisture in the air stops dust from floating around and settling whilst you're trying to apply it.

Oh and another two things, even if you think it doesnt change the look, it so very changes the feel. Glass is much nicer than plastic. Annnd, Ive had my iPhone for 2 years now and have not been careful in the slightest with it (its a phone, man up!) looking at it up close right now there is actually barely a scratch on it and I toss the thing in my pocket with my keys without thinking half the time. Glass is so very scratch resistant these days they're even more pointless than they ever were before. Especially when applying them involves taking your expensive new electrical tech into a room full of condensation ¬_¬
