Put it this way, each new Windows version had an interface tweak mode to make it look like the one before, as long as Win8 has that so you can make it look like 7? Cool, can't wait for it.

Blame Apple. Every since they showed that you can sell the same device with a few tweaks year after year the whole tech industry has been trying to follow suit.

Exactly, look at graphics cards. There is a definite sales model that holds back the tech for consumers, whilst they milk us for every last penny.
