I am due a phone upgrade in June. I had one Android and it was utter shite, so went back to the iPhone (5) and have been happy.

However, not convinced by the 6. Will see what the reviews say over the coming months, but could conceivably be tempted away by Samsung.

I had a HTC One M8 for a bit but couldn't get on with it, no idea why. There wasn't anything in particular wrong with it. Ended up going back to my Nexus 5.

Does anyone know of a rubbery/silicone cover for the iPad 3 that also protects the screen?

Doesn't necessarily have to be silicone, but its the only way I can think to describe it. Covers the back and has a wee flappy magent door bit to cover the screen, it's thin, lightweight and relatively low profile. Ring any bells?

Itunes 12 is such a massive turd. They seem to be removing ease of use from the design.

It's because Apple's Design philosophy is "DO WHAT WE TELL YOU CUNTS! NO DONT DO THAT. ROGER? TAKE THAT BUTTON AWAY SO THEY CANT DO THAT!"

Apple are great and shit at the same time. They are innovative and when their products work it feels so great but their closed infrastructure is extremely annoying

I bought an iPad and an iPad mini so I could Facetime with the wife, brother and mum when I am abroad (the quality is better than Skype) but I am glad I ditched my iPhone for a Samsung. Next phone will be probably be a Windows and my next tablet will be a Surface. No way am I buying a Macbook Pro. If it was not for the fact the family all invested in iPads I would not have bought Apple

iTunes 12 also doesn't support OSX 10.6.
My Macbook is one model too old for a free upgrade to 10.10, leaving only a £14 upgrade to 10.7. Why is that not free?
And Apple won't make a 32GB nano.

Mid-2008 (4.1)... 2009 and later is supported for 10.8 onwards (think that's when they started putting better GPUs in). This does make my gear positively ancient in Apple's eyes.

Phone upgrade time - my having been burned by the HTC experience means I now have an iPhone 6 64Gb. All very familiar, does what I want how I want it. All good with me.

So why is icloud a useless shit?

Used to be your last 1000 photos were backup up to the cloud and separate from your on phone camera roll, that was kind of great. Now you can have everything backed up to the cloud, synced automatically to all your devices but its all integrated into the camera roll. You delete something from your camera roll and it deletes it from all your devices. I dont get their thinking here. Why not have a different tab for stuff that is uploaded and one for physical on device items. Its complete shit.

The hard drive in my parents PC died. While their photo collection was stored externally, their iTunes libary was toasted. I figured it wasn't a big deal as all their music was stored on an iPod touch.

Well, I've fixed their system, but the one thing I can't for the life of me figure out is how to get music off an iPod.

Is there some trick I'm missing, as the best I keep finding on Google are old out of date forum posts and shitty programs that ask for cash.

Also, what the fuck, Apple? Couldn't have made it easy, could they? :x

To be honest, you can't. Not with iTunes anyway. Their music devices are designed to receive music, not restore it.

It's doable but prepare to manually rename every track on the PC before importing them into iTunes, wiping the iPod and resyncing it with the new library.

Yeah you can definitely do it because I had to salvage about 100GBs worth of tracks off my Classic when I lost my HD backups. Every single track will be listed as a random string of letters and depending on what file format they are you might be able to get iTunes to recognise them right away when you load them in. If you have any WAVs though then good luck listening to every single track and retagging it all manually, that's pretty much what I had to do.
