Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Care to share the process? I'm intrigued as I could never find one that worked before (and I'm sure Subway would be grateful).

Thre are ones that do it and keep the titles intact. I think there's a program called ifunbox or something and a few others, I'll check in the morning when I get home.

It was a long time ago so I'm a bit hazy on what I did but I'm pretty sure I didn't install any apps or anything. If you can access the disk on the iPod as if it were just a standard remote device then you can find the files all hidden in one of the directories.

Could be wrong though.

Thought I might by myself a Mac.

Only, my budget was a tenner.

So, that's a Powerbook G3 "Wall Street" (with guest appearance of Medicine Man's old telly)
Made for the buisness man of the mid-90s, it's now terribly archaic. The screen is an ugly mess of smears, it runs like a quadruple amputee dog, takes the better part of 5 minutes to boot, is about as thick as 6 MacBook Air and weighs about the same as a stack of bricks.

Still, I have plans for it...

Hah. Went off half cocked on this one. Should have tried for a better system as this one was considered horribly crippled, even when it first came out. Been snooping about for processor boards in hopes of upgrading it, but they seem to cost more than most complete systems I could get on eBay.

Well, you live, you learn. I'll try going into old-school Macs at a later date. My desire for FMV adventure games from California have not been dashed yet!

Slightly more serious note. Less fannying about with an old clunker.

These past few years, I've been starting to move away from the idea of having a "Gaming PC", and moving towards the idea of a simple, all in one type system for day to day use. Just the size, noise and power consumption alone have me questioning if I should keep a system like this. So, having forever been a Microsoft person, I had been looking about at the PC market for self-contained systems, but it's looking like a wild-freakin' west out there.

So, I got to thinking about either an iMac or MacMini. Probably a Mini, as it'd fit in better with my screen arrangement. The thing is, I can't tell if I'm going nuts for considering this?
I'd probably either put my old PC aside and just fire it up if/when I want to play a graphically intensive game. Otherwise, I get the sense the old GOG games and the like would be handled fine with dual booting.

Aside from the nuisance of having to buy a disk drive for it, this is all sounding quite inciting. :-k
Should I? It'd be an adventure, to say the least.

My housemate dual booted his Macbook Pro a couple of years ago and had an absolute nightmare with it.

Personally I can't stand Macbooks. They're overpriced, underpowered and the OS is absolutely horrible to navigate and just get shit done on. The only upside to them is that they can be nice and compact, but then you're relegated to using a trackpad for things. And if you're going to put it on a desk and use a mouse/keyboard you might as well get a PC with a nice monitor instead.

Ok so I know I'm a bit biased when it comes to Apple stuff, especially the coverage, but this article strikes me as an advertorial rather than an actual unbiased report.

Depends on your definition of Surface; if you mean the first generation ones which didn't run a full version of Windows, yes. The new Surface models (and all of the Surface Pros) run the full, desktop style version of Windows, meaning you can install anything you like on them. The iPad Pro looks like it still uses iOS, so you'll be limited to whatever you can get from the app store. I know there are many iOS versions of desktop software available, but they've always been a bit limited compared to the desktop equivalents. Perhaps that'll change with the announcement of the Pro.

I know that Raid, I have one :P That's specifically why I didn't say Pro! As the iPad has a cut down mobile OS much like the RT did.

Thought I didn't know the Surface 3 non-pro ran full Windows too.
