Don't... have spotted a buzzard circling a mile or so away a few times. They're quick little buggers, though...

Will do my best... the sound of my cameraphone or the back door opening tends to send them fleeing in the blink of an eye, though

Being someone who would normally have no qualms about going after second hand accessories such as controllers I had already bought myself a preowned Lunar controller which turned up completely broken so I thought it was high time I just bought myself something new considering it's an additional £15 and cuts out the risk factor completely. The black Xbox One controller I was using cost me a measly £20 but the left stick just kept drifting and drifting or would just stick altogether meaning I was unable to even run in games such as Titanfall 2 putting me at a disadvantage every single match. Some may still believe that paying £55 for a controller is too much but this new white one feels genuinely like an improvement and it's a nice middle ground controller knowing that I will never own an Elite or even a new Lunar.

Now at least I know I am fully kitted out for when the new games start coming out in the next few months and having used second hand ones for so long it sure does feel nice to have something brand new in my hands that doesn't creek or stick or instantly just fuck up my gaming experience.

Some might say using a controller at all is fucking up your gaming experience. ;)

In was going to post a picture of a keyboard and mouse but felt it would be a bit facetious. Each to own I suppose :)

I don't think he has either. I'll bet he even navigates Windows with a pad. :D

So after laughing at them on announcement I went and bought some Airpods.

I really really like these things! Now, I hate canalphones (feel and sound) so that immediately limits my wireless bud choices. I had several pairs, best of which were probably Backbeat Fits which are ok, they buzz a little on some podcasts, battery life is ok and sound is fine but they punched my ears a little at the top when I wore then for a few hours. The Airpods are real comfy in that I barely know they are there, decent sound quality (lounder than Backbeats, better high clarity and slightly punchier bass) and I really like the case thing which means Im never out of juice. The killer feature is the way they auto sync across all your apple devices using your sign in, including the watch and TV. First world problems but reauthing bluetooth devices is such a pain the arse so this just makes it simple. Got them for £120 and I dont, as I thought I would, regret it. For my needs, I dont think theres anything better out there.

Wish they were black. Theres a company that will paint them black right enough..... for £80 >_<

My Windows phone is a damn mess. I mostly use it for browsing these days, but it's gotten so slow even for that. Half the apps don't work right any more and it's just generally being a pain.

So, got one of these to replace it:

Image

iPhone SE 32GB (In rose gold, of course)
Why a relatively older model? Well, it's most powerful one that still has a headphone jack at the moment. I'll admit the screen is a step back compared to my old Lumia, being smaller and not OLED. But everything else about it? Super neat and snappy as all get out.
We shall see how long it keeps getting new versions of iOS, though. I know Apple likes retire them quickly, but hopefully it'll last at least two or three years.

So, now that I have a phone on a widely supported operating system, I've got to ask: What are some Must Have apps and games?
Already got my email, news and video streaming clients of choice, along with Steam guard. Now I'm thinking, what else do I even bloody need? :-k
(I ask assuming everyone has a damn iPhone)

Uuuuuuhmmmm......

Warbits is an excellent Advance Wars

Hitman Go/Lara Croft Go/Deus Ex Go. Simple yet deep puzzle games.

Neuroshima Hex is a great little strategy board game thing that’s hard to explain but it’s all about setting up chain reactions. A little like Into The Breach in that way but also not....

Out There is like FTL with no combat. It’s very random and can be randomly punishing but I find it quite relaxing to play and explore. It does get stressful at times though.

80 Days. A bit like Out There with more charm traveling around the world.

Sorcery 1-4. Modern choose your own adventure books.

The Creeps! is an ancient TD game I keep coming back to. I think it’s mainly the awful and kind of char indie sfx

Clash Royale is a great little quick multiplayer strategy game. Don’t pay in any real money, you get so little for it and they’re really quite generous with the free stuff that it’s even less value.

I realise it was a pretty silly question in retrospect, but thanks for the suggestions. Plenty to be looking into there.
