Calling all Nvidia owners, this is a brand new thread dedicated to all things Nvidia based. So instead of having driver updates plastered all over the forum willy nilly you can now consult this thread for news of any new releases. Alternatively you can also obviously discuss existing and upcoming hardware releases at your pleasure.

As of 14/01/2009 the latest Nvidia ForceWare release is 185.20.

Nvidia blames slow PC market for major revenue dropage

NVIDIA posted a warning today that when its fourth quarter results come in, it expects them to show a 40 to 50 percent decline in revenues from the third quarter. The graphics company cited "further weakness in end-user demand and inventory reductions by NVIDIA's channel partners in the global PC supply chain" as the reason for the drop.

40 to 50 percent is a pretty serious drop, especially given that NVIDIA's fourth quarter revenues have always risen from the third quarter, and it shows just how weak the PC market is right now. The discrete graphics market is NVIDIA's bread-and-butter, so the company is quite exposed to drops in the global appetite for PCs and notebooks—and demand has definitely dropped.

Latest WHQL drivers out today - 181.22.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

New in Release 181.22:

This driver is recommended for the best GPU PhysX experience in EA’s hot PC title Mirror’s Edge.
This driver package automatically installs the new PhysX System Software version 9.09.0010.
Additional information on specific bug fixes can be found in the release documentation notes.

Unless you've got Mirrors Edge I wouldn't bother updating just yet tbh.

Graphics chip manufacturer NVIDIA reports a $30 million loss for the full year ended January 25, 2009, compared to $797.6 million profit for the year ended 2008. As it turns out, revenues were down to $3.4 billion from $4.1 billion for the prior year, a drop of 16 per cent.

"The environment is clearly difficult and uncertain," said Jen Hsun Huang, prez and CEO of NVIDIA. "Our first priority is to set an operating expense level that balances cash conservation while allowing us to continue to invest in initiatives that are of great importance to the market and in which we believe we have industry leadership. We have initiatives in all areas to reduce operating expenses," he explained.

The 181.22 buggered up all games running on Source and caused some oddities in Company of Heroes on my 7600GT. Anyone else had similar problems?
