Odd DVD/ CD drive quirk - disconnecting my internets

Postby Jerry » Thu Jul 19, 2007 12:00 am

Basically, every time the DVD drive reads a DVD or a CD it will cut my connection to the internet. And then I get a "remote computer" error when I try to reconnect.

I have a standard USB broadband connection. Is there any known reason why this might happen? It's profoundly irritating because it means I have to reboot if ever I insert a new disc and still want to use the internet.

sounds like a power distribution isse, im assuming the power used to spin up the drive is causing the usb device to trip out...

well, that would be my first guess anyway...
