DVD-ROM not recognising DVD's!!!

Postby Orcus » Tue Jul 17, 2007 12:09 pm

My DVD drive will play cds and stuff but when I put a DVD inside it doesn't even know theres a disc in there.

I'm using a Philips x56 laptop with media centre and the drive is a MATSHITA UJ850S.

Yeah mine had that problem before reformat. In order to run CDs I had to actually RMB > Open, because Autoplay just refused to work and it wouldn't register the fact that I was using a new CD/DVD until I'd used it.

Eventually? I've only had the bugger for about 6 months, it's taking the bloody squirt. Right...
