I know I've missed the last 17 issues. I may fill in the back issues over time. I don't want to spunk them all onto the forum at once and piss people off so I may do it gradually, if I do it at all. Thanks. Oh and if anybody wants to know anything else just shout.

I'm interested in the Sonic Mania review as a 7 feels surprisingly low to me. What do they point out as flaws?

They knocked off 3 points because it didn't have enough big thick blue veiny cock.

It would appear that its the old Sonic that everyone knew and loved, flaws and all. Gotta go fast, except oops spikes, oops bad enemy placement oops dead etc.

The moments of ingenuity you come to admire most are those where you're least in control, and you're reminded that Sonic games are more fun when they're pinball tables rather than platformers.

Mania's fixation on the past may have precluded its creators from addressing historical flaws, though that was never really the aim. This convincing comeback has been designed for the die-hards - and they haven't been this well served by a Sonic game for ages.

The Edge Roundups are baaaack! :D

(Medicine Man as well, sure.)

Sonic Mania and Mario+Rabbids are the two I'll be playing this month. Both seem very good from what little I've seen.

Turns out I got letter of the month in this months mag. Which is a little embarrassing as it wasn't my intention I was just moaning at them in my usual curmudgeonly way.

So it looks like I'm a published author now like our very own Mr Boots. For autographs please send a SAE to the usual address. I dont do his standard used underwear requests though. At least not at his prices. :D

You have to feel somewhat bad for Lawbreakers as a new IP I mean they did try something that was at least slightly new in a very oversaturate and stuck on constant repeat market. The game had 226 concurrent players on Steam yesterday which is amazing give that it's only been out just over four weeks ago. That has to set an all time new record for subsequent player base deathage. Sad to also see what has become of Volition's Agents of Mayhem. The game is a mess.

So ramped for Assassin's Creed: Origins right now and the fact it's also being lauded as much more an RPG experience than anything else having got heavily into RPG's again recently makes me kinda moist.

Ouch. Thats not good.

Poor Cliffy B. Think of what damage those salty tears are doing to the good upholstery in one of his many Ferraris.

He seems like an alright guy, sometimes he says utterly stupid misinformed shite. He also said that he came back to game development because he was getting bored during his 'retirement'. The guy's what, 30-something?

Lawbreakers is just a non-entity to me. Passed by with zero fanfare and no gameplay footage I glimpsed remotely inspired me to try it.

Personally I'm not sure why it didn't gain any traction; while nothing about it would make me expect a blockbuster like Overwatch, to see it completely DOA was definitely a surprise given that reviews seem to be positive. One thing I did notice was the reliance on name-dropping Cliffy B in what little marketing I've seen, and I'm not convinced that's a particularly good strategy. For one, is he really so famous that the majority of gamers know who he is without mentioning Unreal Tournament or Gears of War? Second, I remember this tactic used to promote Daikatana back in the day, and I always thought that came across as self-congratulating rather than as a selling point.

I think PUBG is a big reason why games like Lawbreakers and Mirage: Arcane Warfare have tanked. Even something like Quake Champions which has an IP behind it only had 1,112 players online yesterday. When you have 10 million people playing one shooter then anything else is going to struggle to get a look in.
