Steam Summer Sale 2017!

Postby Prey » Tue Jun 20, 2017 6:30 pm

Paypal UK have let it slip that this years Steam Summer Sale will take place in exactly...two days...FVFFFFddfhbfhfffffffffffffff

That matches the date that leaked last month, when a screenshot of a Steam developers group post found its way to Reddit. As Shaun noted at the time, the 2016 Summer Sale began on June 23, so even at that stage the date seemed like a good bet.

I can only assume it just went live because my Steam is currently completely inoperable.

Yeah, Steam sales have started (and refreshed) at 6pm our time for many years now.

I won't lie, a bit disappointed to see most things on my wish list discounted by 15-33% only. Was hoping for more than that tbh.

It's still a bit slow, though, so will give it a proper browse later this evening.

Best I've found so far is Shadow of Mordor for £3.19. It's difficult to say no at that price.

Yeah man. If you haven't got that one it's well that sort of price. It's a little generic in it open worldness but there's lots else in it to counter that.

Loads of stuff from my wishlist is on sale and mostly at good prices too. It's probably a case of deciding what I really want to get as I could easily spend £40-£50.

Lots of little indie games on my wishlist are hovering between 70-85% off. Might spend £15 or so and pick up four or five of them.

No real deals to be had on the larger publisher games though. Total Warhammer for £13 is a good deal and probably the lowest I've ever seen it, but you don't get any of the additional DLC that Sega are known for, that costs an extra £30 if you want all the races and lords.

Will keep an eye out for more.

Edit: Hollow Knight for £7.25 is pretty smashing.

Ok, going to start making some purchases, I think.

Thinking of Firewatch (£6.74), Hitman complete season (£15.90), Sherlock Holmes Devil's Daughter (£10, what can I say, I like the SH games [-( ) and Transistor (£2.24).

Perhaps it's just that I own most everything I'd ever want (and never be able to play in a lifetime), but these massive sales seem less and less exciting every year.

Only game that comes to mind that I'd like to pick up at some point is Civ VI, but that damn game went on sale for 30 quid. Hardly a compelling price.

Haha. Will just wait for the winter sales before buying more crap, I think.:)

I bought Civ VI within a week of it coming out for £30 on CDKeys. You could almost certainly find a better deal than that now elsewhere.

That's me pretty much done I think.

Sunless Sea, Abzu, Party Hard and Hollow Knight.

There are a lot of games on my wishlist that are discounted heavily but I can't really justify buying them all at this point when it generally takes me at least a year to get round to playing something.
