I'll have to watch the Devolver press conference later, totally forgot they were doing one.

E3 hasn't actually started yet, and they're not doing a conference. Maybe in the PC gaming show this evening?

I really hate how Sony always have their slot at stupid o'clock for UK viewers. It's the only conference I'm ever interested in watching nowadays to see what Japanese developed titles they're bringing to Europe.

I really wanted to have a reason to buy an X but $500 and not a whole lot in the way if games except Anthem I guess I'm holding off longer. Still hate MS presenting style, it's so robotic and jarring.

Edit and apparently that awesome looking Last Night is gamergate? Some people are having a hissy.

Wolfenstein Looks amazing.

I hope that after TNO and DOOM, people will actually be excited for the game this time. :)

So far, Battlefront 2 and Wolf are looking like confirmed buys. Crackdown 3 is a maybe. Hum, forgot the rest of the Xbox games... shows how much of an impact they had on me.

Had a quick look. Guy sounds like a royal Edwin.
Supposedly the game is set in a dystopia caused by progressivism ?! Haha, fuck off.

Oh in case people missed it last night, paid mods are back. Bethesda is launching the Creation Club which will allow people to buy specially created mods. People can still release mods for free, but anything released for free cannot make their way into the Creation Club.

Paid mods are already a sticky subject and I feel with this tiering structure Bethesda are making things even stickier.

And if people don't buy them, they'll stop it. If people do buy them then there clearly is a market for such a product.

I know people on forums love to complain about this stuff, but I think they sometimes forget that companies exist to make money - it's not like they're here to be our friends. Besides, weren't Bethesda the progenitors of the whole DLC model? Remember the horse armour fiasco?

I get the sense it's less paid mods and more, you know, horse armour 2.0.

Bethesda seems to be making most of the content, while hand picking and polishing up a few community items, sort of like what Valve does with TF2. Can't say for sure that it's the end of mods as we know it, but it's certainly far less of mess than the first attempt. And, you know, far less amusing. No horse anus mods being sold for $$$. :P

That argument never washes with me, just because a company is there to make money doesn't mean they get a free pass to be a dick.

Just to be clear I'm not saying Bethesda is being a dick here, I'm undecided about the whole paid mods thing.

I don't think they should ever have a right to charge for other people's content. It should be all considered under fair use policy or something similar. It's especially jarring when Bethesda does it because they often release poorly optimised games which the communities then fix and often improve. The constant drive to exploit every single stream for all potential revenue is ultimately going to be what kills creativity, it already does in many ways with big publishers forcing developers to release the same lacklustre crap every year.

I don't object to businesses existing to make a profit, but when that manifests as greed then we have a problem. Valve in particular are becoming awful with over this.

Still say paid mods are great. You increase the incentive you increase the competition and quality.
