I was shocked at the Titan Souls score. I haven't read the text, but it seemed like it was going to be one of those indy games that everybody loved.

It's interesting that they gave Bloodborne a 10 considering Dark Souls was their game of the last generation and it only got a 9. However it wasn't much of a surprise after their gushing preview last month.

I can see that. I know people who really like it and people who think it is more of the same only worse.

Bloodborne is not a 10. It's very good but in like a solid 8 kind of way.

Agree. The review scores I've seen all over the shop are inflated. It's a good/great game, but not a ten.

Not sure about the hotline miami 2 score. But having said that, my interest evaporated as soon as I got to the jungle sections.

I have played less of HM2 than I expected, some of the levels are just so brutally hard, but no way is it a 5.

It's interesting to compare the reviews that Dark Souls got compared to the subsequent praise it received after the fact and how Bloodborne is fairing. It has started out with higher reviews, but the more and more I read about it and hear people discuss it, the more it feels like eventually people will change their minds and not rate it as highly.

Its just limited. An arcane build and a str build are doing litterally the exact same thing just that one gets a fire puff on hits and the other doesnt. Then you have at least half the bosses that are inconsequential almost like they put them in the wrong order. Almost feels like a game you should play to introduce you to the Souls games rather than a game that follows on from them. That said, its not a souls game...... but it is. Its a fine game and probably the second best of the new generation of high budget games (second to Alien) with excellent art design but its not a patch on Chromehounds.

I kind of want a stand alone DLC game that is only the chalice dungeons built for coop.

Yeah I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be much variety in how you can tackle the game. Part of the appeal of the Souls series is that it is possible to beat the game with so many different builds and weapons.

How is the difficulty? I was listening to Jeff on the latest Bombcast and he has hardly played any Souls games, but he said he was having little trouble with Bloodborne and had pretty much breezed through the first area. The others were saying it does get harder, but I've heard conflicting reports.

Ive had trouble with the second boss, the third boss (blood), then walked over till the last 2 bosses (I'm assuming they are the final 2 though I dont know for sure) which are kicking my arse a bit right now. Its not that the bosses are a walkover, you cant just run in and flail, but if you take your time and watch their moves you wont have much trouble. I probably died on all of them at least once (except the Mensa bloke) so its not like a complete joyride but if you want to be punished hard then nah, not till the very end and even then Ive not tried them much to really judge.

I wish I knew about the duplication bug so I could have duplicated a bunch of blood items on a new character and leveled him up quickly as a bloodtinge (gun stat) just to see if thats in any way viable but I 100% will not put the effort into doing that manually

Like I said, it is a good game and if you like the old games you probably shouldnt miss it but its also probably not the XXX Souls 4 you are looking for. I dont regret playing it, but its not a 10.

I should also add though, its maybe not fair to only think of the bosses because some of the grunts can take it to you, especially if youre not careful. The level design is good though not as good as Dark and certainly not as good as Demon. Its fun to explore and to find shortcuts as always.

Oh and to balance out with more negatives, health and a consumable is vastly inferior to estus. Basically forces you to spend a few thousand blood or go to level one and kill the to stonepuncher guys a few times to farm them.
