The Kickstarter Thread - Get Your Kicks Started Here

Postby Solidarity Reg » Sat Apr 21, 2012 5:59 pm

Just thought we could do with a thread like this in case anyone finds a KS game project that takes their fancy that others might be interested in backing.

Nekro

Only 12 days left on this one, and it's a Dungeon Keeper/Overlord-like game that I thought looked quite fun.

I like how they call it unique when the paragraphs before and after that statement talk about how it is a mash up of old games.

Honestly, I didn't read the blurb. I just watched the video and found it rather charming.

Grim Dawn

A more traditional ARPG from the creators of Titan Quest. One of only two ARPG options coming on the market that don't force some kind of online/social gaming along with it.

That can't be right can it? Especially since his first bash at it failed. What the hell are they going to do with all that money? And why would you back something so grossly over-funded?

I think I'm going to start a kickstarter to have these questions and more answered. Although the 'more' would be a stretch goal obviously

Third most successful Kickstarter of all time behind the Peddle Watch and the Ouya. Fourth is an MP3 player called the Pono, a product backed by Neil Young, which would explain the $50 tier which got you a Neil Young signed poster!

If we're going to mock terrible Kickstarter projects, I have the worst.

Man posts slightly amusing Kickstarter asking for $10 to make potato salad. Look at the current funding.

Kickstarter is a bottomless well of genius. I think you have to go deeper than potato salad to find the worst. :D

True. There's nothing really wrong with the potato salad project itself. Just the fact that it's over $50,000 for something that looks like a mockery of Kickstarter.

I've been linked to that console before. It's on its third Kickstarter, each asking for a fraction of the previous funding. I'm trying to work out if it's an excellent parody of some of the stupider projects you see or not.

Funny, I was just thinking that the industry is lacking honest reviews from a 20 something.

So fucking honest she cant even tell us her real age.
