Wouldn't write it off yet, looks like the servers are being absolutely hammered (launch week, to be expected really).

Would that not happen every time a big new game comes out?

Quite a cool concept this. Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole with my connection, but I can see it being huge if they make it work properly.

I'm in the same position. Let me know how it goes as I would quite like to try OnLive out.

Got an email back. They are migrating my account to a UK one. Whether or not I'll qualify for a £1 game, I'm not sure. I'll let you know!

Well if steam can't do it, this is going to be screwed.

It'll happen to a much lesser extent than currently. Right now, everyone who is interested at all is trying it out. For new releases, only people who like the service will be using it, everyone else will go back to Steam.

Apparently according to RPS it looks much better using the console thing they have launched alongside the service.

It doesn't really look any better. You're just further away.

It's a shame I really wanted to like OnLive sadly in it's current form it's unplayable for me. Maybe when it quietens down.

They seem to think that it does look slightly better.

It looks pretty bad on my PC the past few days.

And I think the Server they put me on broke because Metro 2033 was displaying horrible melty triangle type artefacts all over the place. >.<

So very impressed.

Just been playing the Space Marine 30min trial and I get none of the issues you lot have brought up. No real noticeable lag on inputs and visually it mostly looked great (bit rate fell once or twice but thats to be expected). Granted, I was playing it on my netbook so the smaller screen is more forgiving but thats what this was designed for. Its brilliant and its still early days.... I cant wait to see what this will be like down the line. Its the future.

Oh and the interface is gorgeous.

edit: ha, I'm eyeing up the console now. That little thing is so cool! ^_^

EDIT2: tried Duke and noticed the lag more there but its not horrible. If I was using a controller I dont think I would really notice it.

Preorder Batman for 39.99 and get the console for free. I am so very tempted...

edit:

Glad someone else likes it. I thought it was pretty cool when I tried it, and it can only get better.

I like, no LOVE, the idea of it. It's all very swish and it seems to work.

So long as they nail the lag I'll be happy. It all feels very....wish washy when I'm trying to aim, almost like I'm dragging my cursor through water or something. Once that's fixed, I think it'll be fantastic.
