I had it. It was quite good, but i've no idea where i put it.
Its like, 99p these days -_- Theres also a fair few mods to open up the gameworld more like it was originally intended. You can even take your SP good online, trade, then take those goods back to your SP game.... dont know quite how thiving the community is now though, but it was active for a lllong time.

I-War? *p'fah* That's not a sim. This is a sim.

Though I do love the I-War series, ridiculous yo-yo space battles & all.

There's also this new Shuttle sim. I haven't tried it yet, my pensionable PC couldn't handle it, but it does look quite fancy & very in-depth.

Larinson wrote:Yeah, I really miss space games like X-Wing and Freespace 2. I hope someone does another one soon. They can't be THAT hard to make. All you have to do is make a space background, then loads of ships that fly around going 'pew pew'. Or something.

It's that their sales nose-dived after the X-Wing/TIE Fighter days is the problem, I think. Freespace 2 is legendary as a poor seller, despite being the reigning space sim since it was released. I don't think I-War 2 sold all that well either. Here's hoping for Elite IV before the heat-death of the universe.

Thanks for the link to that Space Shuttle simulator website, Newtie. That looks pretty cool. I might just check that out when I get myself a new quad core PC.

That would be Battlecruiser Milleniums sort of spawn.
