Oh indeed it is. It's just sad to me that the mad discounts of old are well and truly a thing of the past.

I always live in hope that maybe the next sale will be the one.

So the sales started and as usual the whole thing just breaks. You'd think they wouldd have that sorted by now.

Anyway there's a wee game tacked onto the sale as per as well...

Dont know anything about it as the whole site's humped. Maybe later tonight then...

Welp, seems to be the usual 20-30% off the games on my wishlist, most of which I'm not that fussed about. So, nah.

I've got some great games on there! Just not very discounted ones -_-

Edit: It's actually just £13 on CDkeys.com Dj, just highlighting in case you wanted to refund and save another couple of quid...

Was looking to pick up the entirety of the new Castlevania series. Those got a really nice discount, so went for that. (I hear they're not great, but I'm still amused by Robert Carlyle and Patrick Stewart.)

Picked Get Even as well. It seemed like a strange budget First-Person-adventure by way of Condemned.

The first one is a pretty good game and the second is fine from what I played. I think they get unfairly maligned, I'd be tempted to grab the second if it's a decent price.

" :o "

That was my face when I discovered this very hour that one of my favourite games from my misspent high-school days is available to buy on Steam!

(also, -20% discount for the next couple of days)

Timegate: Knight's Chase

I thought this game had literally been lost to the mists of time!

It has some polygons in it, but they're very low-res and move around in hand-drawn 2D environments, so I can handle it.

Did you read the second review? Might be a bug in DosBox that prevents you from completing the game

Yeah, I've encountered that bug before with my CD copy of the game, which is still lurking in the house somewhere. I found a work around for it some years ago, but I can't remember what I did.

However, I'm watching a video of it now and it actually looks pretty terrible. I think I'll pass after all. ¬_¬

I kind of lost my appetite for retro gaming a while back, was finding that a lot of the games I thought were amazing when I was a kid were either too dated to enjoy or just nowhere near as good as I remembered.

Yeah, I've found that for the most part, with only two or three exceptions.

2001's Desperados has apparently been given a big update to make it run properly on modern systems - it's also just 90p currently on Steam if you want to try it out with the update but can't be arsed digging out your old discs:

I have the steam version, it worked on Windows 7 without issue. It's the bloody awful UI and controls that need updating.
