So this finished on sunday, we watched the final episode last night. I can't remember enjoying another TV programme as much as this. I love Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones and the like as much as the next person, but I don't think they can beat the levels of drama, beauty, comedy and wonder that Planet Earth contains.
I don't expect many will share my level of enthusiasm here, but there were a number of sequences that I doubt I'll forget easily; the sea iguanas' hard-as-nails tutorial level, the vertical commute of baby ibexes , the surprising prey of urban catfish, the lioness deciding that maybe giraffe just isn't for her and the confused bowerbird giving away his heart. It's photography porn of the highest order, with a fantastic soundtrack and legendarily well narrated. The BBC's NHU has done themselves proud. Again.
